Whitman Hospital & Medical Center achieves 5 star rating by Medicare
Whitman Hospital in Colfax, WA today announced it has achieved a 5 Star Rating for Patient Experience by Medicare. Patient survey results show that Whitman Hospital rated above the Washington and National Average in all 11 categories set forth by Medicare. See details atmedicare.gov/hospitalcompare.
As explained on the medicare.gov website Hospital Compare has information about the quality of care at over 4,000 Medicare certified hospitals across the country. Consumers can use this tool to locate hospitals and compare the quality of care. The survey of patients' experiences, otherwise known as the HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey, has been used since 2006 to measure the patient's perspective of hospital care. The results are posted on the Hospital Compare website to assist consumers in making fair and objective comparisons between hospitals and with state and national averages on important measures of patients' perspectives of care.
"We are extremely proud of this achievement and thank our excellent staff and physicians for their high level of care and dedication they give to our patients," says CEO Hank Hanigan of Whitman Hospital and Medical Center. "It is an honor to be part of an organization that has the support of our communities. This five star rating is a testament of that."
